The Excitement of Calling 911

So I nanny for a family right? On Tuesday mornings I only have Emma, who is 1, and Covelli, who is 2. Covelli isn't part of the original family that I watch. His parents are friends of the Brousseaus. His mom is a school teacher and for 2 months before the mom gets off for the summer the dad works for UVU doing the grass. So I have been watching him the last month and a half.

Yesterday when I got here at 8:40 he was already asleep. So I went down stairs to run and workout. Around 10:30 Emma wakes up from her nap so I go and get her. As I walk down the stairs Covelli, who is on the couch is on his side is looking at me. I go to the other room, expecting him to follow soon. He doesnt. At about 10:50 I hear him start breathing really weird so I go to check on him. I find him face down on the couch in snot and spit. So i quickly roll him over and he is just lying limp in my arms. I put him on the floor to get him out of the mess and try to get him to wake up. I shake him a little. open his eyes. Nothing. So i called Katie who didnt answer, so I call alex cuz he is an EMT. He says that anytime a baby is unresponsive that I need to call 911. So I call. It took me forever to find a peice of mail with the address. I find one and they send an ambulance. About 30 Seconds before they get here he starts to be responsive, but he keeps going in and out of it. They finally get here and got control of the situation.

I got to work today and found out that he did have a seizure. Covelli has never had a fever and so if he gets one, even at 99, which is what he had yesterday, he has a seizure. His parents will need to keep an eye on him until he is 5 or 6 but he will be okay.
